The baby monkey, Tiko, had always been a curious little thing. He loved to explore the jungle, climbing trees and swinging from vines, but today, his adventure led him somewhere unexpected—a quiet farm on the edge of the forest.
Tiko’s big, round eyes sparkled as he hopped down from a branch and onto the soft dirt of the farmyard. He saw strange, feathery creatures pecking at the ground, clucking and flapping their wings. Chickens! He had never seen them before, and his tiny hands reached out, hoping to play.
But the mother hen, a large, fierce-looking bird named Matilda, did not take kindly to strangers. She puffed up her feathers and let out an angry squawk. To her, Tiko was nothing more than a threat to her fluffy little chicks.
Before Tiko could even blink, Matilda charged at him with all the fury of a warrior protecting her kingdom. Her sharp beak pecked at his soft fur, and her wings flapped wildly, sending dust flying into the air.
Tiko let out a startled squeak, stumbling backward. He didn’t understand—he just wanted to play! But Matilda was relentless. She chased him around the yard, pecking and clucking furiously. The other chickens joined in, squawking and fluttering in a chaotic frenzy.
Terrified, Tiko scrambled to escape. He darted toward the nearest tree, his tiny legs moving as fast as they could. With one final leap, he grabbed onto a branch and pulled himself up just in time. Below, Matilda clucked triumphantly, warning him never to return.
Panting and shaking, Tiko clung to the tree, his fur ruffled and his heart racing. The jungle was full of dangers, but he had never expected a chicken to be one of them!
As he climbed back toward home, he made a promise to himself—next time, he would stick to playing with monkeys.
