In a small clearing, Ruby saw a tiny baby monkey, no older than herself, chained to a tree. The little monkey was frightened and alone, his eyes filled with tears. Ruby’s heart sank. She couldn’t bear to see another monkey in distress. She approached cautiously, making soft sounds to comfort him.
“Hey there, little one. What happened?” Ruby asked gently.
“My name is Milo,” the baby monkey replied, his voice trembling. “I was captured by humans and brought here. They want to sell me. I don’t want to be away from my family!”
Ruby’s heart raced with determination. She knew she had to help Milo. “Don’t worry, I’ll find a way to set you free!” she promised, her spirit ignited with courage.
With newfound resolve, Ruby scurried back into the depths of the forest to gather her friends. She explained the situation, and together they devised a plan. They would distract the humans and free Milo. Ruby’s friends—an agile squirrel named Sammy and a clever parrot named Lola—were eager to help.
That night, as the moon shone brightly, Ruby and her friends sprang into action. Lola flew high above the clearing, squawking loudly to draw the humans’ attention. While they were distracted, Sammy darted around the trees, creating a rustling sound to confuse them further.
Ruby took her chance. She dashed to Milo and started working on the chain that bound him. With nimble fingers, she tried to pry it loose. Just as the humans turned to see what was happening, the chain broke with a loud clank!
“Milo, run!” Ruby shouted. Milo didn’t hesitate. He jumped to his feet and raced towards the forest, Ruby right beside him. They dashed through the trees, their hearts pounding with excitement and fear.
As they reached a safe distance, Milo stopped and looked at Ruby, tears of joy streaming down his face. “Thank you! I can’t believe I’m free!”
Ruby smiled brightly. “You’re safe now. Let’s go home!” Together, they swung through the branches, laughing and playing, the bond of friendship sealing their adventure forever. And in that moment, the forest felt more like home than ever.
